Batch 22
Ingredients:
- 1 can (3.3 lbs) light malt extract
- 1 can (3.3 lbs) amber malt extract
- 1 packet White Labs Dry English Ale yeast (007)
- 1 oz fuggle hops pellets 4.2%AA
- 1 oz sterling hops pellets 8.7%AA
- 5 oz of priming sugar
Brought 4 gallons of water to a boil. Removed from heat and added LME. Returned to a boil, added Sterling hops, and started a 1 hours timer. At 30 minutes, added irish moss. As 15 minutes added the fuggle. Cooled in a sink of cold water to 88F. Added cold water to 5 gallons. Pitched at 80F. --Morrigu (talk) 16:00, 4 September 2016 (EDT)
IG: 1.050 @ 80F = 1.0525 @ 60F
Racked. Not loving the extra bitterness from the sterling hops, but still ok. Next time I'll be more careful to get lower AA hops. --Morrigu (talk) 17:29, 11 September 2016 (EDT)
FSG: 1.010 @ 76F = 1.011 @ 60F = 5.3275% ABV
Nice flavor on the final product. Still has a somewhat more bitter finish than I usually go for, but it's toned down quite a bit from when I racked. Bottled with Loken --Morrigu (talk) 20:09, 2 October 2016 (EDT)
