The Book of Pussich: Chapter 3

Overlord Shmoverlord

After a lot of travelling, we reached a barren area from which we could see the Overlord's citadel in all its glory. After a short period of time, we saw small shapes rise up from the citadel and streak towards our group. Moments later, a group of three giant metal golems landed by the group and asked what we were doing in the area. After a bit of unconvincing explanation, one of the metal men told us that the Dark Overlord would like to speak with the group, and that we were to wait in the area for transportation. The steel giants left.

After a few minutes, they returned with a huge metal box. We were all ushered into the huge box. It was then closed and we felt like we were moving. A little while later, the box settled to the ground and the door opened. We were led out in front of the Dark Citadel and instructed to enter the large dark spire which jutted out from the far end of the courtyard. We entered and were met by a man who was half metallic and another man wearing a uniform who introduced himself as Scott.

Scott, it turns out, is the feared Dark Overlord--even though he didn't seem that bad at first glance. Scott introduced the half-metallic man as Lt. Anderson. Scott brought the group into a sitting room and asked us why we were in the area. We improvised and came up with some lame excuse about exploring the area. Nigel inquired as to what Scott does. He informed us that he leads his group and they protect the world. We also found out that he's been in the Hub for 20 years and it was quite a bit more chaotic until he arrived.

A woman in uniform entered while the group was talking to Scott, and took him out of the room to converse privately. Scott returned a few moments later and Nigel inquireed as to what lies underneath the citadel. Scott said that they'd never found anything in their surveys.

We ate lunch while Scott consulted with his second in command about sending us down to search below the citadel. Astrix told us, over lunch, about his encounter with Pussich's avatar and how Pussich is considering him for paladinhood. Astrix assured us that he is pious enough and wants to become a paladin. Iam was brought to us by one of the citadel guards and Nigel agreed to help Astrix attain paladinhood.

Geo-what?!

Scott returned a short time later and informed us that they will do a geo-physical survey first, then let us do a physical search with one of their men tagging along. We were then given a tour of the parts of the citadel that were not restricted. They showed us a strange kitchen where the food and drinks came out of odd machines called "dispensers." Also, they showed us the bathroom, and we discoverd that this place was probably a mage's tower before Scott's group arrived and remodeled. Elly, Gwen and Alekzie make a dessert from some of the foods they got from the machines and then we relaxed for a bit. Aremis kept watch for the night, scouting the area while Elly was still awake.

Rude Awakening

We were awakened by a loud alarm and all the soldiers rushing out of the barracks. A moment later another soldier of slightly higher rank came in and saw Gwen. He reassured her that nothing was wrong. Gwen seduced him right there (on a bunk) while Nigel and Astrix prevented (or tried to, at least) Elly and Iam from watching. This took a half hour. Later he introduced himself to the rest of the group as Lt. Michaels.

Lieutenant Michaels brought us outside to a practice area where he taught us how to climb using the gear he provided. We got lunch afterwards, and heard back from the survey team that they didn't find anything new. Elly then pointed out a cave that Aremis showed her the night before while he was scouting. Their scans had missed it. They decided to let us climb down and explore it.
