MJ Kesia
A cruel and nasty bitch, she was an apprentice mage to the Circle of Thirteen, a group of the thirteen most powerful ritual mages serving The Queen. She was a master of the Fire school, and also of Dark Runecraft; a pioneer of the film. She remembers little before the age of eight; she crawled out of the icy water onto a snowy field, naked and alone. But her body shone with fire, and she did not freeze. She wandered for days before a patrol of Queen's Guard found her. She burned half of them to death before they decided not to hurt her, but to bring her to the Queen's fortress. She was apprenticed under the mages, and threw herself into her studies of pain- both fiery and runic. She delighted in making others hurt, and practiced many kinds of torture.
During the Elemental Wars, she was deemed too dangerous to keep at home; she was killing too many ice mages. She spent a lot of time in the field with various armies, including General Caedrus on his notable excursion to Freehold. There, she suffered the indignity of capture and insufficient torturing, and was then Gated to the Arcanum by Master Krell for imprisonment. Luckily, half her guard were on the take, and she carved her way out through a sea of blood, laughing and singing as she did so. She took special joy in tormenting Krell, placing runes on him that bound his spirit to his dead body, and put him on Sojourn. The Arcanum managed to break the runes and bring him back to life before he suffered Final Death; lucky! Kesia Gated back to the fortress near Freehold and happily tortured for the rest of the day.
And that would have been the end... but the next moon, in the midst of communication with the Arcanum slime she'd been dealing with, she was burst in on by Freeholders! They captured her yet again and brought her back to Freehold, where they sacrificed her ritually on her own Obelisk in order to break the blood-ties she'd forged. Naturally, this went horribly awry, as they failed to do the ritual properly (it -was- a very last-minute thing, in their defense). Instead, they prepared her body to be merged with the Dark Queen.
(I did really cool eye makeup that looked like yellow and red flames leaping from my eyes. And wore the gold contacts. It was awesome, though it smudged a little.)
The following moon was the destruction of the dark Queen; they shattered her into six parts, and fought each part. The Queen of Pain, who has once been Kesia, was the only one of the six to live. Two hours of delicious torture to those she had known. Mmmm. She had captured an elf named Trelin, the one who'd kept her enslaved both times previous; she bound him to love her obsessively, to want nothing but to please her.
When the Queen was destroyed, Trelin was inconsolable. And Kesia was nowhere to be found. What -did- happen to her? Well... I'll let you know... when I finish writing it. ;)
